There are now basically 2 critical issues with AttractMode. One can be worked around, the other not:

First is that it doesn't compile against FFMPEG 4 (see https://github.com/mickelson/attract/issues/442). This can be worked around at least.

The second issue is the one reported in this thread, wherein AttractMode just freezes (without any errors in the log/stderr) when it tries to load artwork that doesn't exist (see https://github.com/mickelson/attract/issues/440).

Unless the other guys commenting in this thread are familiar with FFMPEG or LIBSFML, we'll have to wait for Mickelson to reappear and have time to work on it.

Yeah, I've been making my own, I thought I'd ask just in case you had a secret stash somewhere.

Regarding the controls, I already have those set otherwise I wouldn't be able to navigate between systems in the first place (see attached). That works fine to go up and down between games and left/right between displays/systems.

Are there menu specific controls somewhere?

Wow that's a... lot of large downloads. Does "HyperPie Update Pack 1.01 (1.95gb)" contain it? As it seems recent and is one of the smaller ones.

Hey jedione, this is really great but I'm having 2 issues:

1. Is there somewhere to get more of these machine artworks for ones you didn't include? Or are you making them yourself?

2. This is the big one - I seem to have to use up and down to switch between systems rather than left and right which is obvious disorienting. Is there a way around that? My normal setup is scrolling up and down through games so not sure why the systems seem to want to scroll up/down rather than left/right here.

That's an option. Go into the menu, then go to General. It's called "Startup Mode".

Oh, I didn't realise that. I thought this WAS a theme for the display menu! Hah. But yeah, I'm not a fan of any of the existing display menus, but this one looks great. I'm surprised there isn't anything more like the Emulation Station system selection screen or your example here, they seem like the more obvious choices.

On that same note, does AM support SVG images? It seems to do some pretty terrible scaling on PNGs so SVGs seem like they'd fit better.

Do your system names or romlist names have spaces in them? I found that AttractMode goes crazy when you do and lots of stuff randomly stops working.

Where does it actually get the missing wheel-art from? The only place I know that you can easily pull it from is TheGamesDB.

Another request for the name being used when wheel art doesn't exist. I use AM for lots of systems wherein there often isn't wheel art.

Question regarding odd behaviour though. I'm seeing the wrong system being used in the background or for missing-wheel-art. For example on Amiga it's using a picture of a PSP, on MAME/Arcade it's using a Nintendo DS. What would cause that?
