Cool arcade machines! 

Ok I'll try to help:

Scraper Database

• Make an account here: https://www.screenscraper.fr (There is language select at the top left with country flags)
• Check your spam for activation (it seems to go there) or try to login again and resend activation which worked for me.
• Download Skraper and unzip/install it somewhere

SkraperUI

• Click the (+) at the bottom left to add your systems
• Select the "Games/Front End" tab at the top and make sure the rom folder is correct
• Select the "Media" tab at the top
• Click the "Add Media" button and add as much media as you want to scrape for your systems, I use 3D boxes, gameplay videos, wheels and cartridge pics (called support)
• Once done, click the big "Play" button on the bottom right to get your files. This can take a few hours if you have a big collection!

Now you will see a "media" folder in your rom folder like above, you will want to rename the folders for what your theme/layout needs.


Copy all these files to your Attract Mode/scraper/"Emulator Name" folder name you want to use (There should be a folder here else you need to scan for games in attract mode). Now you want to rename these folders so attract mode can use them. For my layout (HyperPie v2) I rename the following:

Rename Folders

• "box3d" to "flyer"
• "support" to "cartart"
• "wheelsteel" to "wheel" (I like the wheel steel for most, sometimes I use carbon, look at the images to decide for your own style.)
• "screenmarqueesmall" to "marquee"
• "video" to "snap"
• "images","manual" and "overview" I leave the same, the other copies I delete for this theme.

 I now go to Attract mode and make sure my Layout/Theme for the emulator is selected and it should all work. You can tweak a number of themes to use different folders too if they are using images you don't like:

(Tab menu -> Displays -> Emulator -> Layout/Layout Options )

Hi Peeps!
First things first, thanks for everyone's hard work here, I Attract Mode is my favourite front end so far and I think it's certainly the most user friendly to setup though it could use a few more guides on more advanced features.

Anyways I feel that a lot of the really good themes are somewhat lost here, I almost gave up on the front end in the beginning because I couldn't find one that appealed to me i.e. looked a bit flashy while not being too minimalist and showing off 3D box art/carts.


That all changed when I found the HyperPie theme which is my current fav so I was wondering what else I might have missed and what you guys all use? 



Just as a note, I think the best scraper for this is Skraper which allows you to get custom image types for all your games (like 3D box art instead of flat) in a nice easy fashion with UI. You will need an account on ScreenScraper.fr though but that's fine with me. Thanks again, and I can't wait to keep improving my build!
