Hi Verion,

Yup, that fixed it. It looks great thanks.

Do you have a recommended source for the 'fan art' shown in your demo video? That would be the finishing touch.

I uncommented the two lines and changed them to my resolution.

fe.layout.width = 1360;
fe.layout.height = 768;

This doesn't help, it still dropped back to the default screen.

I added fe.layout.preserve_aspect_ratio=true; above the two lines above and it didn't make any difference.

Can anyone suggest what else I may need to do or is there anyway to more intelligently fault find this?

Hi Verion,

I finally got a chance to get onto my cabinet and upgrade to 2.0 + add Nevato.

I did it in 2 steps (retaining the robospin theme first) then changed to Nevato. For whatever reason, Nevato doesn't work - It reverts to the 'default theme' with a list of text. This happened when I hadn't copied the Robospin to my 2.0 installation also.

I checked and all of Nevato is there etc. My resolution is 1360x768, it's a Windows 7 machine....

I'm not sure how to go about debugging the issue? I'm sure it's really simply - Any help would be appreciated!

General / Re: AM + Rocketlauncher + Generating Rom List?
« on: February 03, 2016, 12:29:05 AM »
Hi Omegaman and Akafox,

Omegaman, yes AM is set as the frontend.

Akafox, yes, that will work, I guess i'll need to keep 2x sets of config files, 1 for use and 1 for updating rom lists.

I was hoping there may be a more elegant solution. I would like to keep rocketlauncher because it has really tidied up the tricky emulators.

Thanks

General / AM + Rocketlauncher + Generating Rom List?
« on: February 02, 2016, 12:49:26 AM »
Hi all,

I have used rocketlauncher to tidy up launching of emulators and avoiding seeing the background, mouse etc when launching. It works well but i've run into a problem.

To use Rocketlauncher the emulator cfg files need to have:

"executable           C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe
args                 -s "[emulator]" -r "[name]" -p AttractMode -f "C:\Attract-Mode\attract.exe"

It works fine for launching until I go to regenerate the rom list (with additional games) and ofcourse that runs rocketlauncher which doesn't appear to work.

For anyone that uses rocketlauncher + AM, do you know how to make this work?

Can I have a separate command in the .cfg for generating the romlist?

At the moment i'm editing the config file, updating the romlist and editing it back again. I'm hoping there is a better way....

Thanks for reading!

Hi all,

I'm working through Rocketlauncher which unlike AM is not too straight forward! However, I think it will eventually do what I want and if not there is a whole community to ask.

I have an AM related question though. To use Rocketlauncher the emulator cfg files need to have:

"executable           C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe
args                 -s "[emulator]" -r "[name]" -p AttractMode -f "C:\Attract-Mode\attract.exe"

It works fine for launching until I went to regenerate the rom list (with additional games) and ofcourse that runs rocketlauncher which doesn't appear to work.

For anyone that uses rocketlauncher + AM, do you know how to make this work?

Hi Omegaman,

Awesome, thanks, I'll check it out. I actually setup up hyperspin + rocketlauncher (which was horrendously complicated) prior to deciding that attract mode was more for me.

I'll check out hyperlauncher in conjunction with attract mode!

Thanks

Good to see there has been additional replies (that I missed).

I'm back to try and sort this out. Hermine, the porblem with just making windows look less windows like, is that the emulator (M2, demul) still has a window.

I'll look into the other options provided to work around it. Simplistically, I was hoping there may be an option to have:

Launch ROM -> AM take back / retain focus for X seconds (setup in emulator config) -> switch to emulator

General / Attract-Mode retaining focus on launch of emulator
« on: January 12, 2016, 03:30:05 PM »
Hi,

I have got MAME setup beautifully in Attract-mode and I really don't understand why it's not more popular than it is!

I've started setting up additional emulators (M2 and Demul) and while attract-mode is still great, I need to now account for some of less desirable features of those emulators.

1) when I launch the game it jumps out to the desktop while the emulator is started before eventually starting the game in fullscreen. What i'd like to achieve is a seamless transition like I see for Mame.

Is there any way to achieve this? I was thinking if attract mode could keep focus for X number of seconds before transitioning....

2) The mouse cursor shows smack bang in the middle of the screen on Demul. In googling it, I see people use an autohotkey script to mask this. How do I tie this in with attract mode and launching of the emulator?

Thanks for your time!

General / Filter on the number of buttons?
« on: December 08, 2015, 11:35:38 PM »
Hi there,

I have a control panel with 4 buttons per player, and i'd like to filter out ROMs that require more buttons than this.

I have controls.ini and I can see that i'd want to filter on P1NumButtons. Is there anyway to filter on specific properties within controls?

I've tried searching myself but I can't figure it out.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
