General / Re: OSX Catalina - Attract mode does not Not Work - HELP!!!!!
« on: October 09, 2019, 09:31:36 AM »
Sorry... There is no OSX Catalina, it is macOS Catalina.  :-[

And i plan to continue using Mojave for a long time ... until they remove the exclusivity of 64-bit applications.  >:(

And this drift to make macOS more and more similar to IOS will not help me to change macOS version.  :o

My macbook has been running Mountain Lion for many years and i haven't needed anything more modern.  ;D

And my Toshiba Libretto U100 has been running Windows XP for many years and i have not needed to change to windows 10.  ;D

You do know that the “X” in “OSX” is Roman numeral for “10”, and we are at mac version 10.15. While Apple might have dropped the term, calling it “osx” is not incorrect.

I don't agree with you, Keil, nor Apple either:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacOS

https://www.apple.com/macos/catalina/

The denomination you say and the reasons you give are obsolete, have long since changed. I also like the name OSX, but Apple does not. And they are the owners of the creature.  ;D

New modification of the main post.

This time, at the end of it, i add a new HD video with MAME, N64 and Dreamcast running on my ioRaspi4.

This video demonstrates clearly and without any doubt that I am only using Attract-Mode and RetroArch on a Raspberry pi 4 running with Raspbian Buster.

I stopped using retropie because it does very strange things with attract-mode, such as putting the attract.cfg in that path you have set, when it should be with the executable.

I have the impression that being a system mounted for EmulationStation, they try that Attract-Mode works more or less similar ... and I don't like what they do.

I'm sorry, but with all those changes they have made, I wouldn't know where to start helping you. I hope that some specialist in retropie can help you.

All my themes always have an on-screen game counter, like this one:

Code: [Select]
local contador = fe.add_text("[ListEntry]/[ListSize]", flx*0.4, fly*0.9, flw*0.5, flh*0.3);
And when searching with keyboard-search the counter is updated with the data found. So it will not be complicated to mount it on your own.

And as for quotes, very easy, open the keyboard-search module and replace this line:

Code: [Select]
search_text.msg = ( text == "" ) ? "" : "\"" + text + "\""

for this one:

Code: [Select]
search_text.msg = ( text == "" ) ? "" : text

A minimum error:

In the firsletters folder you must change the name of the image 1.png to #.png  :-[

Thanks jedione. Very good work.  ;D

I've been testing your layout, but the letters don't appear on the screen.

This code does not seem to do anything:

Code: [Select]
local abc = fe.add_image( "firstletter/[Buttons]", 70, 930, 1100, 50);
The game videos were not seen either, but i changed "video" to "snap" and solved it.

I think you have made a mistake in the forum...
Here nobody is going to provide you with an img neither for pi 3 nor for 4.
This is a forum dedicated to the Attract-Mode frontend, not the Raspberry Pi, and not to the preconfigured images...
I am not looking for a preconfigured image, maybe you are reading into what I did not say.

It is very possible that i did not understand you well, because my native language is not English, and since you were talking about "I'm learning that the images for the RPi3", i may have misunderstood you.  :-[

In any case, just trying to inform you. If i have bothered or offended you, well, i'm sorry, it won't happen again...  8)

I have not understood you well, nor do i know where your system lists anything...
I would need to see some of the code you are using or know exactly what list you are talking about.  :-[
