how does one use it in a theme, hard coded?

it just breaks the theme the way it is..thats all :D

but also thanks, for what you are doing to!.

Not sure what you mean by hard coded. Its just a simple function, not a class. It returns a value. Untested because i wrote it on my iphone. On my way right not with measurements to make extension cords and such to hook up computer. Excited to be back on attract.

@kyle..

Code: [Select]
firstLetter(){
  local firstChar = rstrip(fe.game_info(Info.Title)).slice(0,1);
  local expression = regexp(“[a-zA-Z]”);
  expression.match(firstChar) ? return firstChar : return “#”;
}

how is this used?  in a theme it just breaks it..

It returns the first character of the currently selected game, or the pound symbol for other non alphabetical characters.

Ill try to assemble a lightweight module similar to shuffle.

@jedione Just the other day i made a small snippet of code for rand0m on discord to extract the letters and other characters using regex. This feature has nothing to do with shuffle, and should be implemented separately.

Code: [Select]
firstLetter(){
  local firstChar = rstrip(fe.game_info(Info.Title)).slice(0,1);
  local expression = regexp(“[a-zA-Z]”);
  expression.match(firstChar) ? return firstChar : return “#”;
}

If you want to not display a whole alphabet, should probably white a separate function with similar logic to shuffle? Ill work on making shuffle not loop soon. Will connect computer tonight. Just moved and been busy.

Not sure if we can talk publicly about where to get them. If you obtain a full romset, check out the nofiller tag list i made and add a 80’s filter.

Are you trying to use the class with snap.png as a param? Check your if statement.

Going straight to Attract_Mode is nice as I no longer have to pause for a few seconds to allow windows aero desktop to come fully alive.

My exit routine (it provides some options) wasn't getting focus, attract mode wasn't disappearing. Solved that with the exit command: start exit.bat

My question is, how do I launch the usual windows 7 desktop if I want it ?  explorer.exe just gives me a windows explorer window.

Launching explorer.exe should give you a full desktop environment.

You are using an if statement referencing a config option. I think that is why you dont see it. You could try adding an image to your snap path called snap.png?

Following your progress with this theme has been enjoyable! It’s starting to feel polished! Ps i own that tv in the first second of the video! I remember going to circuit city with my parents and them buying it thinking 27” is huge! Few years ago i seen the same tv they had for sale on Facebook market and had to get it. It’s actually a really good tv, minus the lack of inputs and mediocre speakers. Visually great picture.

chuggy - question...found your post from a google search. Raspberry arriving tomorrow, do i need to flash the SD card with retropie first. then flash the SD card with the wolf buildout/image? then reboot? new to this...thanks so much

Disk images are copies of a disk. Copying over a disk erases its prior contents.

When you said command line are you talking about terminal in Linux? I am using Ubuntu and not Windows.

pwd is a Linux/Unix command for Present Working Directory, and will show full path of the current working directory. So cd to your path and then run the pwd command.
