Attract mode screen rolling
« on: November 23, 2018, 03:02:32 PM »
Hi all,

I could do with some advice. I am running AttractMode and Groovymame on a Windows 7 setup in an arcade cab (15khz). I have CRT emudriver installed and everything works as it should and looks great.

I am attempting to completely hide Windows once Attract Mode has launched.

I seem to be having an issue hiding the taskbar when MAME games are closed down. I think this may be down to being unable to set Attract Mode to full screen. When I do the screen rolls like there is a V hold issue. I have tried adjusting the monitor at the back but this isn't the issue. Is there a way of specifying exactly the Res and Hz that Attract Mode uses when using full screen? Or is this another issue that isn't related to AM?

Does anyone have any ideas what this might be?

Cheers,

J

Attract will use desktop resolution. Don’t run explorer. Shell attractmode.

Thanks for the response, keilmillerjr. I was considering shelling once I had everything perfect (I intend to add some console games, ones that are arcade control friendly).

If Attract Mode runs the desktop resolution and I can see the desktop before loading Attract Mode without that causing the screen to roll then I don't understand why Attract mode would when set to Full screen?

I am sure I have set something wrong in the config to cause this. What other options control the screen resolution?

I have attract set on default, which I think is fill? Try it and let me know how it goes.

You can always use taskbar to open explorer and then kill it. Control + alt + delete
