Yes, you can install on top of RetroPie. It's quite common. How are you trying to install Attract-Mode: from the command line or from the RetroPie "experimental" menu? The installation is slightly different between the two. Also, what error are you getting when you try to install Attract-Mode?

If your build is older you might need to update the OS before you install using these commands.
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Because i am so new to this whole scene I was not aware of the two methods. I like to know which is the best way and fresh way to properly install attract mode on top of retropie. And to be honest the errors i was getting while trying an upgrade method i found on the net i know it was probably not the best way but i am still new. Also how do i know if my OS is old i think i did the Retropie update cause i am running retropie 4.1.9 I think.

ok so i this i installed the attract mode both ways and i don't seem to see it anywhere in the retropie menu. And when i do run the file from the file manager i dont have a attract mode setup menu as well so i think i am giving up.  >:(
