OK, here are some background packs for various consoles that you can add to the lean theme layout folder. These are pretty basic themes and some are better than others but its a start.

You need to download the mame.zip and unzip it to the layouts folder. The updated theme is on the 2nd page of this thread, and 2nd post from the bottom. Then you can download the various backgrounds for whatever consoles you have.
