[video preview] BIONIC theme (vertical theme)

We're working on a vertical theme concept that will be easy on resources.
So most of the eye candy will be just with images and overlays - so it can still look good while working flawlessly on weak hardware (RPi).

The idea behind the design is to have a smaller video (for better resolution/quality on hi-res screens) - but not as a rectangle window slapped on a background, we want it to blend nicely.

And just 3 elements:
- video/screenshot
- wheel (game logo)
- game list

question #1:
Do you think it should be more elements?

question #2:
Is the 4:3 aspect only ok? I have a feeling that if people are using dedicated vertical screen - it's 4:3 only.

If the design utilizes raster images and thus not easy to make fluid, force an aspect and let other aspects have jail-bars.

I love the design, but would love to see what it looks like without the control panel image and the overall skew. It looks like a better non-branded version of pandora box.

I've checked your pandora theme.
I was hoping that I can simply reuse its code.
But like you've said - it's not that simple as slaping new artwork and call it a day.

But I was thinking - maybe you would want to team up with this, and redo your pandora theme to work with my layout?

First of all, that is absolutely gorgeous.  Second of all, seriously another "concept" when you already have a long backlog of other "concepts"?  Bro I'm still waiting on "The Eye", "Carbonite", and "Magnus"!!!!!! hahaha    All kidding aside, I think this one so far looks the best.  I hope you and Jedione partnering up means we'll be able to actually enjoy this theme!  Good luck guys!

Oh and regarding the aspect ratio.  Why not create 2 variations?  One for 4:3 vertical and another for horizontal?  I also like keilmillerjr's idea on having a plain version with no control panel.  So that plain version could be the horizontal one?

Well... I'm a graphic designer. That's what I do. I've coded one theme (NEVATO) myself just to get to now what's behind the curtain with AM. Well... even that was not coding but forking Robospin + heavy modifications... but still. It's good to know limitations and possibilities of the system when designing.

For FLAT BLUE I've teamed up with @Chris - he coded my design and this was released successfully.

For other themes I've teamed up with coders from this forum - but they all simply stopped working after a while.
No hard feelings, I fully understand it - everybody has a "real life" syndrome.

So if you want to pickup any of this designs and code it - just let me know. You or anyone else.

Yea, that's the plan. That is a mockup shown in a real cab. it will be just a 2D, full sceen design - without the controls.

I never knew you were not working on them--whether in your personal time or with someone else (The Eye with ArcadeBliss was it?).  I liked most of your designs but I didn't want to "steal" them.   Not only that but I'm nowhere near as skilled to bring your ideas to life.  I did try to do a modified magnus theme before but it was nowhere near as good as your original design.  I would honestly love to see zpaolo11x working with you one day.  His coding skills + your graphic designs would skyrocket AM as the definitive front end around.  Now that would be sweet!
