Is there a way to launch a program from the system menu, rather than load that systems layout?


I want to run PinballY.exe when Pinball is selected as a system.

I want to add the following command to my working setup:

Start of emulator launch taskkill /IM antimicro.exe
After exit of emulator antimicro.exe --notray

Anyone compiling their own version of attractmode?

The last version I have that works with my joysticks is: 2.2.1-win64

All the newer versions compiled with the new SFML library result in no joystick support for my xbox 360 fightsitcks.

If someone can compile the current version of attractmode with an older version of sfml that would be great.

I thought maybe with the Vertigo cabinets and more people using the rotated tv for custom cabs they'd get more variety here...

General / Windowed Mode

Can attractmode be run in a window?  Not many themes look good at 4k in portrait mode, so I could run a windows at 1920 x 1080 until my new theme is done.

The joystick is not navigating the attractmode menu.

Running attract-console.exe reveals the following repeated message:

Failed to set DirectInput device axis mode: 1

This issue is not yet fixed, but a workaround is to hide the joysticks using this program: https://github.com/briankendall/devreorder

And remap them using antimicro https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro.

BTW antimicro is the best all-in-one solution I've used for remapping controllers to keyboard. It can detect running programs...

General / Windows 10 (Relative Path with a Space)

Windows 10 Attractmode v2.6.0

If I use:
executable          VPinballX.exe
workdir             ../../VisualPinball

The program will launch...

If I use
executable          VPinballX.exe
workdir             ../../Visual Pinball

The program will not launch...(Yes I rename the folder to Visual Pinball and VisualPinball respectively.

Any idea?

Scripting / Fadeart Opposite

I want fadeart to show an image if the user doesn't do anything for a fixed time.

Basically have like a hint screen come up for navigating...

I am running a version of attractmode on a raspberry pi.

I want to launch xscavenger (a lode runner like game) that requires X.

Not sure how to do it...

I'd like to have a layout actually launch MUGEN from the system select menu.

Any ideas?

I have a layout with just one game, so selecting twice is something I want to avoid.
