General / Adding controls.ini to a filtered mame.xml list?

I have a mame.xml list I created with Don's list creator. I would like to add controls.ini so AM has the data. I tried adding to options in AM and then generate the rom list, but it generates list for ALL roms, not just what is already in my mame xml list. How can I add controls to my imported mame.xml list so AM can have that data?

Ok, what am I doing wrong? I have a a filtered mame.xml with about 1600 games I also have controls.ini. I put those 2 as additional import files and run generate rom list and it is giving me all roms. If i just use import_filelist option via cmd line with just mame.xml, it works fine, but then I don't have controls in there.

Where does AM get it's info about controls when using Info.Control? For some reason it's returning blank for me.

Ya, the reason it was working is because it was guessing the rom name and it was correct. I have updated it.
