@Asterra
First try:
start AM > press TAB key > Plug-ins > ResFix > Enabled : Yes > Specific Emulators : name of your emulator system

-which Pi do you have (1, 2, 3, A, B, Zero)?

-download latest archive from here (v5)
-extract archive
-Write .img with Win32DiskImager to your sd card
-put sd card to your rpi
-turn on rpi
thats it

to get ip from raspberry, goto bash and use this command:
ifconfig
inet addr: is your ip in your network

to control your rpi from windows pc, use putty:
connect to ip of rpi via ssh
login as : pi
password : raspberry

to put roms to your rpi, use winscp:
connect to ip of rpi
login as : pi
password : raspberry

goto /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/nes
put your roms here

General / Re: Cant exit Windows games in Attract Mode

- exit dialogue, by the game itself? (Exit to Windows; End; whatever).

- an external script that waits for your key input to kill the game process in windows.

@b.grigorev
within AM, I don't know.

with an external script (like autoit) on windows:
Code: [Select]
#include <Timers.au3>

;idle time in seconds
$time=10

While 1
If _Timer_GetIdleTime() >= 1 * $time * 1000 Then

;systems in taskmanager
ProcessClose("zsnesw.exe")
ProcessClose("mame64.exe")
ProcessClose("notepad.exe")

EndIf
WEnd
Open taskmanager > start your emulator > check process name > add the process name in sourcecode
script waits specified seconds and close all enclosed process

General / Re: How do I add/remove roms on a list?

@tekn0
close AM > download your romlist via WinSCP > Edit your Romlist > Upload your romlist via WinSCP > start AM

Thread...

if you're using english language file :
Code: [Select]
sudo nano /usr/local/share/attract/language/en.msg

add under '#Interface strings' this line:
Code: [Select]
Exit Attract-Mode?;Shut Down System

@BOXXMAN
I cannot find a way to send any command line arguments that include spaces

It's a DOS-/Windows-thing, to mask spaces in paths with " (quotation marks), because the system stops at the space (C:\my path to exe\myexe.exe => C:\my)

with a pc fan, you can cool your RPI.
there are very small pc fans available (20 x 20 x 10 mm) from Sunon (mc20100v2-a99, gm0501pfb3-8)

>using a switch to poweron / poweroff the RPI

-you need a switch (power or reset button from a old pc)

-connect the two sockets of switch to PIN 5 (GPIO3) and PIN 6 (GROUND):

-create a script called 'shutdown_button.py'
(Thanks to Alex)
Code: [Select]
#! /usr/bin/env python
import os
import RPi.GPIO as GPIO
GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM)
# GPIO3 (pin 5) set up as input. It is pulled up to stop false signals
GPIO.setup(3, GPIO.IN, pull_up_down=GPIO.PUD_UP)
try:
    while True:
        # wait for the pin to be sorted with GND and, if so, halt the system
        GPIO.wait_for_edge(3, GPIO.FALLING)
        # shut down the rpi
        os.system("/sbin/shutdown -h now")
except:
    GPIO.cleanup()

-put it on your RPI ( i've created a own folder : /home/pi/RetroPie/myscripts )

-edit file : /etc/crontab

-set this line at the end, depending to your folder and path
Code: [Select]
@reboot root /usr/bin/python /home/pi/RetroPie/myscripts/shutdown_button.py

-reset your RPI

if RPI is on and you press the button, the RPI shutdow.
If the RPI is already off, RPI turns on again.
