SOLVED

1. Don't rotate the display in Linux
2. Pick a "vertical" layout/theme
3. Rotate the games in MAME
4. Run in "Full Screen"

Hi

I'm trying to recover from a HDD failure on one of my two bartop games.
The original installation was running 1.60 and now I have version 2.51.
I'm running LinuxMint 17,  same version as earlier but with the latest updates.
Display is rotated clockwise in Linux( i'm not sure I did this the last time)

I'm 90% back,  it starts and plays but the display is not filling the screen any longer and the games are "off-set" to the right.

I have attached 2 images.

Any ideas?

Yes...
Instead of pointing AM to the binary for ( as an example) MAME point it towards a script that launches your SW then MAME and finale the last SW

General / Possibly a bug?

Hi

I'm running version 1.60 compiled for Ubuntu by akafox and have discovered that the "video sound" from the videos displayed in the front end does not stop when I launch a game?

Is this a bug or " just" a configuration error somewhere?

Anyway I plan to compile and upgrade to v 1.6.2 before going into "production".

Hi

I'm trying to change the Exit command from "Esc"  for Exit with confirmation to exit to desktop.
reason is that I want a simple/clen exit which leads to shutdown i.e. P1 Start and P2 Start depressed simulataniously from the list.

I cant make the change permanent, perhaps because I dont save the change when I use the GUI.

Is the keymap stored locally in a text file?

Correction, never mind.... Did a quick check by installing on my Mac and it's perfect for what I need for my cab!

SOLVED

Change the permissions of the shutdown command:
sudo chmod u+s /sbin/shutdown
Creat a script that runs at boot:

with the following rows:
attract # to start attract mode
shutdown -P now # to shutdown

Hi

I have a working setup based on Linux Mint 17.3 that starts and launches Attract Mode.

Is there a way to send the shutdown command to Linux with sudo privliges(including password) at the time I exit Attract Mode?
