AM slow in xp
« on: March 10, 2017, 11:11:33 AM »
Hi, when I'm in AM menu, everything run slow, snap videos go like jumping frame to frame, and the selection wheel goes slow too.
Out  of the AM the videos run normal (I updated the video drivers and everything looks ok), I tried with mp4, vlc and avi formats, even tried to set videos to 30fps and still slow...
When I start AM the box show this text:

maybe it's the problem but I don't know what the openGL and GDI are  :-[

The other problem is that when I use the instantsheller to hide windows and run AM, it runs an AM without emulators or something in it, its empty

Thanks for your help!

This helped me. Ctrl-alt-delete then in task manger click performance tab then right click on attract mode then select set priority. Set it to high. It may not help but it did on mine.

what video card do you have and are the drivers properly installed?
Looks to me you either have onboard graphics or no drivers installed because attract is rendering in software instead of hardware.

@shure
last time got same problems on a dell latitude d610 (videos slow, changing between emulators slow, moving through games stucks, and so on)
=> searching and installing the latest drivers for the internal nvidia card worked to me (Option 2 automatic)
AM Version : 2.6.1
Input : Mad Catz Brawlstick; Mouse; Keyboard; Xbox360 Wireless
Cabinet : Yes
OS : Windows10 Pro
System : Dell Precision T3500 ; Intel X5650 ; 12GB RAM

i don't too much about arcadeVGA other than it provides native res for emulators and arcade games.
Emulators and videos can usually run fine with just cpu power so that would make sense.
what about other windows games or benchmark apps?
Have you tried those to see if it's attractmode or all 3d apps?

I tried other games and run slow too, so the problem is the card, after two days searching in the net and doing the impossible to install the drivers, I pull out the arcadevga, and surprise! the onboard card run ok the other games, but in AM some layouts like the robospin donĀ“t show the video and flyers, and crash all the time. I download a new AM and still the same problems. Thanks for all but I think I will return to hyperspin
