Running attractmode in fullscreen on Ubuntu?
« on: July 02, 2017, 05:55:03 AM »
Hi!

I tried searching but couldn't really find a good answer.
Is it possible to get AttractMode running in fullscreen mode under Ubuntu?

I've installed it via Retropie and start it with the attract command.
I've set the sidebar to autohide and that somewhat helps. But the top menu bar is still always visible.

Is it possible to run in true fullscreen mode?

I can't seem to figure out how to hide the Ubunto side control pane launch icons (toolbar) when in the attract mode game slection screen for mame.  Must be able to hide them somehow?  thanks for any help!

Hi Bsoder52, in the configuration "General" settings, try changing "Window Mode" to "Fullscreen Mode"...

I've tried to Fullscreen option under General. But to no avail.

If I understand the linked thread correctly, I need to install another window manager (openbox) and then configure it as described? Sounds doable, but it still seems like the fullscreen option _should_ work?

Yes it should work. And it has worked for others..and it has not worked for others.

You don't have to use openbox.. I use lxde and mate without problems...it may be something with gnome..

the only reason i use open box is because it is "the lightest" (as so far as I can tell..) so I just use it to save resources.
