(PC) How do i launch a .exe directly from the main menu?

Is there a way to launch kodi or steam directly from the main menu with going into a romlist?

which os / system?
on RPI, there is kodi.
and on Windows you can select 'show displays menu' to get Steam.

start AM > hit TAB key > General > Startup Mode : Show Displays Menu
