A few questions by a new member.
« on: April 07, 2019, 06:28:32 PM »
I use this attract mode front end to load a few Nesica games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JjhCpzmN7o

But the trouble is, it uses RocketLauncher to actually load the games, but that is a pain in the ... to configure.

So my question is, can attract mode, launch .exe files or shortcuts to a .bat / .exe directly ?
Which files determine that ?
Human readable, editable ?
Or is RocketLauncher a integral and needed part of Attract mode ?

I would like to try to use a lightweight AttractMode without the need for RocketLauncher if possible.

Yes

\attractmode\emulators\<system>.cfg

No, but it can provide benefits

I would like to try to use a lightweight AttractMode without the need for RocketLauncher if possible.

example of MAME.cfg without Rocketlauncher
Code: [Select]
# Generated by Attract-Mode v2.5.1
#
executable           \Emulators\MAME\mame64.exe
args                 [name]
rompath              \Roms\MAME
romext               .zip

example of MAME.cfg with Rocketlauncher
Code: [Select]
# Generated by Attract-Mode v2.5.1
#
executable           \RocketLauncher\Rocketlauncher.exe
args                 -s "MAME" -r "[name]" -p AttractMode -f "D:\AttractMode\attract.exe"
rompath              \Roms\MAME
romext               .zip
