thank you for your reply, but arent there a better cleaner and none autoit script method? maybe like something that belongs to attract mode or build in function?
attract mode seems to lack some basic features.....

I already checked out the threads and google searched for hours, but I might have missed it... dunno... I was just super shocked that these functions such as in my 2 threads aren't yet implement in attract-mode already, like ages ago, that will make attract-mode 1 step closer to the ultimate front end!!!

The thing I'm looking for is exactly as you mentioned "there was some code and a specific theme" such implementation sound perfect! I'm looking for that code that can be added to attract-mode

found it (nearly). but i was wrong with theme and code.
somebody told for the emulator duckstation. Here
and the code wasn't for AM itself. it was a AHK script.

Since you are not happy about such solutions ("horrible methods", "dodgy 3rd party software", "buggy aswell", "not even working"):

AM is opensource & the stage is yours
AM Version : 2.6.1
Input : Mad Catz Brawlstick; Mouse; Keyboard; Xbox360 Wireless
Cabinet : Yes
OS : Windows10 Pro
System : Dell Precision T3500 ; Intel X5650 ; 12GB RAM

The reason I'm asking for these things are that 10yr old kids will be playing on an arcade machine in public running attract mode and mame on 2 cabinets..

I assigned player start 1 and 2, that needs to be pressed at the same time, in the hot key exit feature in AM settings, that seems to be working out okay..
