Intel x5 z8300 Cherry Trail Compute Stick
« on: February 29, 2016, 08:54:41 PM »
Just bought a Compute Stick Intel x5 z8300 with 4GB to be my station.

The price is 3 times for RPi 3, but higher performance and memory. The power consumption is 2A instead of. The most important can be installed windows OS. So, it is comfortable playing with attract mode, browser, media server or some else like as normal PC.

What is your choice?

 :)

Hey! Let me know how this performs. I just purchased the RPI 3, but I'm curious how these Intel sticks perform. It's crazy what Intel did with that form factor.

I've seen the win 10 mini PC's with cherry trail for about $100 and tempted.
Looking for something to stream steam to.

Anyways, can you test out games like killer instinct or mortal kombat just to get an idea of what this processor can do?
Advmame is fine to test also along with newest mame.

I got an RPI3 orders also and it's supposed to be %70 more powerful than rpi2.

Interested in this also. Be nice if they could handle hlsl/glsl as well.

Tested and it is really better than rpi2 (I have rpi2). The cpu power is so faster than rpi more. I recommend it for yours.  :)

What can it play as far and can it handle shaders?

My config is DDR3 4GB memory  ;D. Intel CPU is much better than Arm.

These boards are nice.
do we know if HLSL for mame will work on them well?
