Ok I think I got this complied and working even with a few errors.

Advmame is now working fine for me other than video is not full screen, it runs in the upper left corner at a max resolution of 448 X 576. The Advmame menu only allows that as the max resolution.
The game works perfectly just scaled. Anyone hav any idea on how to get this to full screen?

Are you using 0.94 or 1.4? Which game - I'll try the same.

I'm using 0.94 (couldn't get 1.4 to work)
I have tried DigDug, BurgerTime, Donkey Kong and they all run the same.

I'm going to wait for you to figure it out  regarless as I got a few errors when comiling so rather have a proper install if you'll be uploading your img file. ;)

Just ran 0.94 digdug and its full screen, so all looks good with this at the moment.

Trying to work out if I'm best trying to update my 0.2 image, or to start from scratch. I had a couple of minor errors building it, but nothing serious it seems - one was missing a readme.txt which I dont quite get but there you go.

Either way, the fact that runcommand runs fine now is a big step forward.

Nice. :)  So are you running Advmame through the standard frontend boot or are you running AM a different way?
I just opened it up as normal with the  Xinit attract and opened my Advmame display, is there some other way or is that correct still with this img?

Now you can start AM with just "attract", before you had to run it under X with "xinit attract".
So I'm now running the emulators in AM using runcommand, which makes setting them up a little easier, and it means you have more control with it like you do in EmulationStation.
So now, rather than checking the emulators.cfg for the commands, you can check es_systems.cfg.

I'll see if I can get this working on top of my 0.2 image, otherwise I'll have to take longer and build from scratch.

https://github.com/mickelson/attract/blob/master/Readme.md

read the section on romlists.

hi,

i want all my games in one List/Screen

i read this, but i dont understand this....
Quote
ROMLISTS: Collection/Rom lists are saved in the "romlist" subdirectory of your Attract-Mode config directory.

i ve no romlist directory in my config directory

\\RETROPIE\configs

I believe the directory you want to look in is  /home/pi/.attract/romlists

thx, thats work. i can copy the games from one romlist.txt to the next.
not the best way, but work.

perhaps a feature request: a entry in the emulator menu, where can
i select a screen.

Ah I see, I will wait for your image then.
So will that effect the Daphne emulator as well? As in make it as easy to use as it is in ES?
And again thanks for the work you put into this.
And thanks to Raygun as well. Your frontend is awesome.  ;D

It should do, I havent got the Daphne config to hand as its in experimental.
Can you put your /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg on pastebin so I can see it?
Then we can see the entry ready for the new image - I should have it in about an hour or so. I've opted to install on top of my 0.2 image.

What this means is emulators that use SDL 1.2 can now be run with attractmode outside of X with hardware scaling.
Advmame for example scaled only in software in X.
Now it will use hardware scaling.

Does anyone have the non x version running on a fresh RetroPie 3.7 build? I've tried a few times without success.
