I totally understand what you wanted now. You could place all objects on a surface or seperately and use animate module or roll your own since a simple fade is easy enough with transition, ticks, and opacity. What is the bug you have? Video looks great!

I don’t see the point in using a front end if that be the case. You can create an auto hot key script that can eject and load the cd tray/drive and mount it to a drive letter. Then load mame with the rom file on the cd and wait for mame to close to eject and start the process all over again.

But why? Hard disk space is cheap now.

I already have the issue solved.

I already know how to move and fade a Suffle List.

I have implemented it in my LCD theme.

I'm just waiting to solve a small bug that i think AM has to upload the updated version of LCD with animated Shuffle List.

I've put it in the forum, to see if someone tells me how to fix it.

In any case, many thanks to qqplayer for your help. My final code is something different from yours, but he gave me the necessary clues to do what i wanted.

That’s awesome news! I feel bad I couldn’t be of help, but glad qqplayer was able to assist. I’m trying to get a new job where I can work reasonable hours. Can’t wait to see the final product!

I remember discussing it before, but I can't find it.

But I was saying back then that AM should call them themes - not layouts.

:D

"Theme" is more common (or approachable) term for me - when it comes to naming something that changes how the launcher looks.
"Skin" is another one that comes to mind - but less elegant IMHO. But "layout"? It is not that obvious - especially for the newcomers.

Last time I heard the word skin was using real player on win 3 and 95.

Sorry. My attendance is flakey past few months. Holiday means I have some time. Was busy past two nights writin a new plugin and something else, almost ready for release. ;)

I am not very familiar with animation module. I write simple animations from scratch and call it good. I wrote shuffle to be simple, without complexity. That doesn’t mean that simple animations can’t be added. I have thought of adding positioning like conveyor if some one experienced with conveyor wanted to team up with me.

Anyways, I will check out your examples tonight. You can extend select and deselect functions and use them possibly to trigger animations. If you have a layout you are working on, send it to me.

I received a pm asking. Responded via pm. Tried to copy and paste message to put in post using my iPhone, but it won’t let my copy the code field. I’ve been working 12hr/7day work plus have a family.

Here’s the example I snapshot. It’s untested, but a good start and maybe work. He doesn’t need anything fancy such as ini support since 1 line = 1 string.

Way more complicated than need be. Try what I sent in pm. It’s only 4 lines of code to create necessary array of strings.

Is Info.Buttons available on all versions of Mame? I'm running AM with Mame 0.185 and Info.Buttons doesn't return anything...

That’s because I made a pull request to fix the issue months ago on GitHub and no accept. We need to get on top of accepting these requests.

I can compile for Mac with the fix, and some one compiled windows for me. I forgot who, sorry. It was a conversation with help on discus channel. If anyone needs it let me know.
