General / After Rom List Generation - Duplicates / Clones Showed Up
« Last post by Pixel Pete on October 19, 2017, 03:42:05 PM »
I usually can research my way through any issue but this one is challenging me. Pi 3, Reys image, all updates complete. Everything was working great until I did this. I did a 'Generate Rom List" from the AM menu under the MAME emulator. It went through ok but when it was done I had duplicates, clones, etc. in my wheel for MAME. I tried applying filters and of course the CloneOf filter and it makes no difference. I even checked the contents on the attract.cfg file. The filters are showing up in there after I create them in AM so I know the setting is getting into the file. I have tried using multiple filters, setting the filter globally, followed other posts on filtering, etc. Makes no difference with the duplicates. Anyone know what happened and why the 'generating the rom list' in AM did this? Am i missing something simple ? Thanks. I do appreciate everyones time here. I would not post here unless I was at the end of my wits.
Anyway of editing what I already have in place? I have standard AM setup using robospin layout. I want the option of adding to the snes display a new section in were the roms are called snes hacks or simply hacks, clicking that option would bring me to all the snes hacks I have, Can one direct me on how to do that? I prefer the way I have my system setup and dont want to change my areas to arcades, consoles etc.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me. If I get to know how to work the snes section then I could do other displays also.

Thanks alot guys

I have looked into this. I am very confused as this option changes alot of things in attract mode. Basically I wanted to add a new sub section/category under the sections I've already created. As I have the usual emulator sections snes, nes etc I wanted to add sections in those sections (preferably at the top above the roms) with wheel art directing to snes hacks. nes hacks etc. I think if there is an option to start a fresh il give it ago but if not ill wait until the new options are added to AM.

Basically I want to have the option of having both frontends as shortcuts to access each frontend. Main reason is  prefer attract mode and I boot into it but when the kids play after school I switch via terminal to ES because it's more user friendly for them. Also with the options to have kiosk mode makes it better also. Personal preference really. Could you help with what I am trying to achieve? Basically from the settings tab in AM I'd like the option to go to ES and from the settings area in ES have the option to boot to AM. I'd appreciate the help. Thanks

What options are you asking about..what options does AM have that ES does not and/or what options does ES that AM doesn't have that you want?

Yes I am confused...  ???

Hey guys, I've been searching the web and forums but cant find any directions or info on how to add menus inside a menu.
Example would be SNES display Menu that shows wheel art, obviously the art links to roms. I want to know how to add a link to another menu/sub menu that leads to a new section, Example SNES Hacks. With that having wheel art of my choosing. I read via google that it was implemented but I cannot find anywhere here on the forum with instructions. I have searched but nothing seems to pop up on the matter.

I would really appreciate some help or a link to instructions.

Thanks alot guys
